Diagnosis
Nymph: Lateral margin of anterior projection of head with indentation ( Fig. 1C, D); apical antennomeres with process* ( Fig. 1G); inner margin of middle and hind femora with protuberances at base of setae* ( Fig. 2I, J); posterior margins of abdominal terga without spines; lateral margin of abdominal terga with fine, simple setae*; abdominal posterolateral projections present on segments IV–IX; outer lamella of gill IV without spines on dorsal surface and margins*; inner margin of outer lamella of gill IV without long, simple setae.
Imago: Vein MA bifurcates next to the base of front wing ( Fig. 4C); apical segment of forceps single* or divided ( Fig. 4H); posterior margin of styliger plate with paired projections* ( Fig. 4G, H); penis lobe without proximal sclerotized process ( Fig. 4G, H).
Distribution
Neotropical, Panamanian and Nearctic regions.
