Geographic distribution
Mexico to Brazil, southward to São Paulo state ( Simone 2006); including the city of Rio de Janeiro (eg Alexandre et al. 2017; Rangel et al. 2021). It has been introduced in Hawaii and Europe ( Cowie et al. 2008; Horsák et al. 2020).
