Material examined. Holotype and paratype specimens of Le. akaisen were reexamined. Holotype male, 2.8 mm, RUMF-ZC-1854, Sunabe Seawall, Okinawajima Island , Okinawa, spur and groove reef ( 26°19'25"N, 127°44'43"E), among coral rubble, 6–9 m, K.N. White and N.S. Remarks. Most characteristics were consistent with the original description of Leucothoe akaisen ( White & Reimer, 2012c) . Additionally, several characters were newly found from the re-examination of the type specimens: (1) accessory flagellum of antenna 1 consists of 1 article ( Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 ); (2) mandible has molar-like-structure (sensu White 2019), located near (distal side) base of palp ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ); (3) gnathopod 1 merus is distally tapering, with 2 setae apically ( Figs 3A View FIGURE 3 , 4A View FIGURE 4 ); (4) medial surface of gnathopod 2 carpus has a robust seta distally ( Figs 3B–D View FIGURE 3 , 4B–D View FIGURE 4 ); (5) female gnathopod 2 dactylus has two fine setae on the facial area ( Fig. 4B View FIGURE 4 ).
