Distribution. Neotropical; Chile: Región de Valparaíso ( Roman 1920); Región Metropolitana ( Morley 1913a; Lamborot et al. 1995); Región del Maule (Morley 1913); Región de Los Lagos (Morley 1913).

Comments. In his work on Argentine Hymenoptera, Schrottky (1902: 91) described the species from “ Lago General Paz ” in the Chubut district of Patagonia. The lake is now known as General Vintter Lake in Argentina and Palena Lake in Chile, and it is shared between the Argentine Patagonia and the Chilean region of Los Lagos. According to Morley (1913) the type should be assumed to be from Chile, while Townes & Townes (1966) report it from Argentina, following the original indication of Schrottky (1902). It is therefore more correct to also report the possible presence of the species on the Chilean side, as already indicated by Morley. According to Townes & Townes (1966: 40), the type is “ lost ”.
