Bordera & Mazon (2024) state that there might have been an error in the original description of the species Atractodes altoandinus Bordera, Mazon & Sääksjärvi, 2016 , with the locality mistakenly identified as Chile ( Bordera et al.
2016a) instead of Peru. Based on the correct altitude and location information, the authors suggest that the type locality and distribution of this species should be considered to be in Peru, specifically in the La Raya pass between the Departments of Cuzco and Puno .
