( Figs 4 View FIGURE 4 , 15d View FIGURE 15 )

Description: Ground color orange-brown, with black patches, anteclypeus sandy beige. Tip of the scutellum dark ( Fig. 15d View FIGURE 15 ).

Subgenital plate rounded apically, lateral margin with irregular rows of short stout setae subbasally, forming one row from middle part to apex; with 3 macrosetae in subapical area ( Fig. 4c View FIGURE 4 ). Style with apex quite broad, foot-like ( Fig. 4d View FIGURE 4 ). Aedeagal shaft short, dorsal margin of apex slightly expanded in lateral view, ventral margin with triangular flaky extension, apex rounded in ventral view; preatrium longer than shaft; gonopore apical ( Figs 4e, f View FIGURE 4 ).

Material examined: Holotype: ♂, China: Yunnan Prov., Lijiang City, Xinzhu , 2300m, 15 xi 1999, Medicago sativa L., coll. Qin Daozheng ( NWAFU); paratype: 1♂, same date as holotype.

Diagnosis: This new species is similar to M. turgida sp. nov., but the pygofer side of the new species has a ventral process, the dorsal apodeme of the aedeagus is distinct, and the apex of the aedeagal shaft is rounded in ventral view.

Etymology: The specific epithet is derived from the Latin word “ circularis ”, referring to apex of penis shaft rounded in ventral view.
