Miltochrista aberrans Butler, 1877: 397 View in CoL . Type locality: Japan: Yokohama .

Material. 1 ♂, Vietnam, Vinh Phuc Province, Tam Dao , 21°27’24” N, 105°38’23” E, 900 m, 4.IV.2024, leg. Evgeny S. Koshkin ( EKC) GoogleMaps ; 1 ♀, with the same data as for the male, but 2.IV.2024 GoogleMaps .

Remarks. This is the first record of this species for Vietnam and the Indochina peninsula. However, Aberrasine aberrans is widespread throughout East Asia, reaching as far south as Guangdong Province and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region ( China), which border Vietnam.

Specimens from northern Vietnam have a well-defined, slightly curved dark medial line on the forewings ( Figs 1E, F View FIGURE 1 ), as do many specimens from Southern and Eastern China ( Fang 2000; Dubatolov et al. 2012b; Wu & Kishida 2020). In many specimens from the northern part of the species range this line is not pronounced, it is either absent or yellow ( Figs 1G, H View FIGURE 1 ). The genitalia of male and female Aberrasine aberrans from Vietnam do not differ significantly from more northern specimens ( Figs 2B, C View FIGURE 2 , 3B, C View FIGURE 3 ).

Following is an updated list of valid taxa in the genus Aberrasine based on the works by Volynkin & Huang (2019), Volynkin (2020), and Singh et al. (2021), taking into account recently described taxa, and newly clarified data on species distributions.
