Pentatoma venosa Zheng & Ling, 1983: 236-237 (junior primary homonym of Pentatoma venosa Förster, 1891 ); Ling & Zheng, 1987: 41, 43-45, 48.

Pentatoma zhengi Rider, 1998: 449 , 454 (new name for venosa Zheng & Ling, 1983 ).

Diagnosis: Dorsum mottled, lateral angles of pronotum produced with truncate apices, the posterior margins of which are white and levigate at edge. Base of scutellum sparsely punctate and distinctly paler than surrounding areas, with 4 black spots along the scutellar basal margin and another two behind. Ostiolar peritreme straight and very short. Abdominal basal spine reaching the middle of middle coxae. Rostrum only extending to the posterior limits of hind coxae.

Male genitalia: Lateral apexes of pygophore bifurcate in lateral view; one plate-like process on each side of ventral margin, apex of which bent slightly dorsad; central excavation of ventral margin deep and with two black acute processes in the middle that are wholly dorsad pointed. Paramere trifurcate. Aedeagus without dorsal sclerotized processes; apex of conjunctiva strongly sclerotized; median penial plate oblong, vesica longer than its apex.

Female genitalia: Inner margins of I gonocoxites forming inverted triangle at the basal 1/3, the other 2/3 straight and becoming closer caudad until contact at the inner angles; apical margins obliquely straight and depressed. IX paratergites shorter than the VIII.

Distribution: China: Yunnan Province.
