Discussion Tese otoliths are in many ways similar to G. emberae from the Tortonian but differ in the posterior rim being inclined toward dorsal, the more rounded angles and the ventral furrow running further away from the ventral rim of the otolith. It also resembles the extant G. robustum ( Fig. 36m –o View Fig ), but is thicker and has a shorter sulcus with a lower, almost flat ostial lobe.
