Hybomitra decora View in CoL is a Mediterranean species, recorded from Greece in the West to Iraq in the East ( Chvála et al. 1972). It was recorded from Iraq, Jordan, Palestine, and Syria. Theodor (1965) followed Oldroyd (1954) and recorded this species under Tabanus ( Therioplectes) decorus View in CoL . Hybomitra decora View in CoL is one of the hairy species with hairy eyes ( Oldroyd 1954).
