Type locality: Vietnam, Tam Dao .
Anthaxia ( Merocratus) tamdaoensis: Bílý, 1999: 234 View in CoL (catalogue); Bellamy, 2008: 1482 (catalogue).
Described from two males from northern Vietnam. Recently more specimens were collected in eastern Laos: Phongsaly province, Phongsaly env., 21°41‘N 102°06‘E, 1500 m, 28.v.–30.vi.2003, P. Pacholátko leg. ( 9 males, 2 females); NE Laos, Hua Phan province, Phu Pane Mt. 20°12‘N 103°59‘E, 1200–1600 m, 31.v.–11.vi.2011, S. Jákl & local collector leg. ( 3 males, 4 females) GoogleMaps .
No substantial sexual dimorphism was found.
Distribution. Laos (new country record), Vietnam.
