Notes.
Clonostachys aquatica was established by Bao et al. (2023) based on ITS and tub 2 sequence data (holotype HKAS 125804 ). Through the study of Bao et al. (2023), C. aquatica clustered as a clade sister to C. rossmaniae with strong support (94 % MLB, 98 % MYPP). Following Bao et al. (2023), we added 28 S, tef 1 and rpb 2 sequence data, and the results showed that C. aquatica clustered with Sesquicillium essexcoheniae (100 % MLB, 0.97 BYPP), forming a successive sister clade with S. rossmaniae (99 % MLB, / 1.00 BYPP) (Fig. 1 View Figure 1 ). Clonostachys aquatica shows a closer relationship with Sesquicillium in phylogenetic analysis. Therefore, based on phylogenetic analysis, we propose C. aquatica as a synonym of S. aquaticum .
