(Hydnobius); Portevin, 1942: 78 comb.; Newton, 1998: 169 (holotype seen); Newton et al., 2017: 135 (habitus photos, aedeagus).

Holotype female [a single specimen in original description, assumed as holotype] in BMNH (nº 2369 in Darwin’s register).

Type locality: “Chiloé Island”, [Chiloé Province], Chile.

Distribution: Argentina ( gilvicornis ): Neuquén and Río Negro Provinces; Chile (all AFN, personal data, except Chiloé): Cautín, Chiloé, Concepción, Llanquihue, Malleco, Ñuble, Osorno, Quillota, Talca, and Valdivia Provinces.

= Leiodes gilvicornis Hlisnikovský, 1964c: 318 View in CoL (as Liodes ); Szymczakowski, 1976: 425; Newton, 1998: 169 syn. (holotype seen). Holotype male in HNHM. Type locality: Pampa Azcona, 350 m, El Bolsón, Río Negro Province.
