• Smallsized marsupial with pointed snout, c. 50 reduced teeth, long vermiform tongue, and eyes near top of head; sparse, short, stiff hair on dorsal surface, softer and longer ventrally, and prominent dorsal white bands; long sparse tail hair; no pouch.
