Coiffait (1970) described this species as Medon lusitanicus from Algarve, Algoz, 1 ♂, paratype, Paderne, 1 ♀, and Barranco do Velho, 2 ♂♂ and 2 ♀♀. Gama et al. (2000) repeated this record. Previously, Boieiro et al. (1999) recorded it in Arcos de Valdevez and Serra do Gerês (Minho). Assing (2006) reported this species from Algarve. Gamarra & Outerelo (2020) reported the species from Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Douro Litoral, Ribatejo and Algarve.

Distribution: Known from France, Portugal, Spain and Morocco (Sch̡lke & Smetana, 2015).

Oliveira (1893) mentions this species from Guarda and Vizela. Borchert (1938) and Horion (1965) gave the same localities. Gamarra & Outerelo (2020) reported this species from Minho, Douro Litoral and Beira Alta.

Distribution: Widespread in Europe, and also known from some Asian countries and the Nearctic Region, where it‟s introduced ( Schülke & SmetAnA, 2015).

Oliveira (1893) refer this species from Alcafache, Coimbra and Vizela. Horion (1965) reports it from Serra da Estrela. Boieiro et al. (1999) recorded it in Mértola (Baixo Alentejo). Assing (2006) reported this species from Serra do Geres, de Montesinho, de Sintra, da Estrela, Manteigas, Gouveia, Coimbra, Lisbon and Algarve. Gamarra & Outerelo (2020) reported the species from Minho, Douro Litoral, Beira Alta, Beira Litoral, Estremadura, Baixo Alentejo and Algarve. Ferreira (2021a) recorded 3 ex. from Monte CórdovA And 2 ex. with the №s 15 And 15A.

Barros (1926) mentioned this species from S. Martinho de Anta. Boieiro et al. (1999) recorded it from Albergaria (Minho). Assing (2006) reported this species from Coimbra and Algarve. Gamarra & Outerelo (2020) reported this species from Minho, Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Beira Litoral and Algarve. Ferreira (2021a) reported 1 ex. with the № 28.
