Oliveira (1893) recorded it as Lithocharis ruficollis Kraatz View in CoL from Guarda ( Beira Alta ). Ferreira (1971) records the species in Eirol (Beira Litoral). Reported from Portugal with no precise localities by Horion (1965). Gamarra & Outerelo (2020) reported the species only from Beira Alta. Ferreira (2021a) refers 2 ex. from Monte Córdova , 1 ex. from PenAmAior And 1 ex. with the № 46 .

Distribution: Widespread in Europe (Sch̡lke & Smetana, 2015).

Barros (1924) reported it from S. Martinho de Anta as Medon [sic!] melanocephalus (F.). Not reported from Portugal by Sch̡lke & Smetana (2015) or Gamarra & Outerelo (2020), it is recorded again by Ferreira (2021a) from Barroselas, 1 ex.

Distribution: Widespread in Europe, and also known in some Asian countries and the Nearctic Region, where it‟s introduced ( Schülke & SmetAnA, 2015).

Assing (2003) described this species from Serra de Montesinho, Montesinho, 1069 m, under stones, 41°56‟13‟‟ N 6°45 ‟31‟‟W, 21/03/2002, 1 ♂ (Holotype), leg. Meybohm (cAss) ; Serra da Estrela, NW Manteigas, 1207 m, under stones, arable land, 40°25‟23‟‟N, 7°31‟24‟‟W, 19/03/2002, 1 ♂ and 2 ♀♀ (Paratypes), leg. Lompe (cAss); Lusitania (= Portugal) , Guarda, Nabainhos, 8-16/11/1997, 1 ♂, leg. P. Poot (cWun). Gamarra & Outerelo (2020) reported this species from Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro and Beira Alta .
Distribution: Only known from Portugal and Spain (Sch̡lke & Smetana, 2015).

AnlAŞ (2018) recorded this species from Faro, Aljezur, 10/09/1969, 1 ♂ and 2 ♀♀, leg. Senglet ( cMHNG). Not reported from Portugal by Gamarra & Outerelo (2020) .
Distribution: Only known in Europe from France and Spain, but also present in Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and the Afrotopical Region (Sch̡lke & Smetana, 2015). It has been recently recorded in Portugal ( AnlAŞ, 2018).

Oliveira (1893) reports this species from BuÇaco, Coimbra, Espinho and LeÇa. Borchert (1938) and Horion (1965) refer Coimbra. Boieiro et al. (1999), from Serra da Arrábida (Estremadura), Pavia (Alto Alentejo), Lagos and Castro Marim (Algarve). Assing (2008a) recorded this species in: 1 ex., Vila Real, Lilela/ValpaÇos, 28/08/1969, leg. Hieke & Wendt (MNHUB, cAss); Algarve, Serra Monchique, Fóia Mt., 800 m, 1.V.1998, 1 ex., leg. Hieke & Wendt (MNHUB). AnlAŞ (2018) recorded the species from BraganÇa, Moncorvo, 27/08/1969, 1 ♂, leg. Senglet (MHNG). Gamarra & Outerelo (2020) reported the species from Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Douro Litoral, Beira Litoral, Estremadura, Alto Alentejo, Baixo Alentejo and Algarve.
