Type locality: freshwater pond at Nagpur , Mahārāshtra, India ( 21º10’ N, 79º12’ E) GoogleMaps . Types — NHM, catalog number not known .
In Venezuela: at the following localities according to Broodbakker (1984a): FALCÓN State, S 1978/?, no locality details (GN 11°00’00” N, 69°50’00” W). GoogleMaps NUEVA ESPARTA State — Margarita Island , no locality details (GN 10°59’13” N, 63°56’08” W) GoogleMaps .
Remarks: this species has a cosmopolitan distribution ( Meisch et al. 2019). It has been recorded from Aruba, Curaçao, Bonaire, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Guadeloupe, Montserrat, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Martin, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Cuba, Jamaica, The Bahamas ( Eleuthera), Venezuela ( Broodbakker 1984a), Brazil ( Martens & Behen 1994), and Guatemala ( Pérez et al. 2010).
