Material examined. INDIA: Karnataka, Doddaballapura , 19.viii.2024, coll. Hemanth ( 1♀ on card) .
Diagnosis. FEMALE. Body length 2.1 mm; face with iridescent lanceolate setae ( Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 ); POL 2.2× OOL; gena reticulate ( Fig. 13C View FIGURE 13 ); antenna with clava equal to combined length of preceding three segments ( Fig. 13C View FIGURE 13 ); lateral panel of pronotum angled at about 90° to the dorsal surface ( Fig. 13D View FIGURE 13 ) and with a punctate area as in Fig. 13E View FIGURE 13 ; axillae shiny with faint reticular markings ( Fig. 13D View FIGURE 13 ); dorsellum smooth and shiny ( Fig. 13F View FIGURE 13 ); propodeal plical region with a median carina, surface otherwise with irregular ridges and plicae forming a well defined hexagonal area ( Fig. 13F View FIGURE 13 ); profemur with ventral margin distally with inconspicuous serrations and protibia dorsal margin without distinct spines ( Fig. 13G View FIGURE 13 ); fore wing with basal cell bare, infuscation near STV as in Fig. 13I View FIGURE 13 ; metasoma with petiole wider than long, Gt 1 with posterior margin distinctly incised medially, and Gt 2 with posterior margin straight ( Fig. 13J View FIGURE 13 ); ovipositor sheath 0.55× length of metatibia ( Fig. 9F View FIGURE 9 ).
Biology. Complete biology unknown, reared from branch cuttings of Gliricidia sepium (Jacq.) Walp. ( Fabaceae ).
Distribution. India ( Karnataka).
Comments. The single female examined resembles H. angularicoxa in having the upper face with golden green metallic luster and the axillae shiny with faint reticulate markings. However, it differs from H. angularicoxa in having the ovipositor sheath 0.24× the length of metasoma (0.35× in H. angularicoxa ). In the original description of H. angularicoxa, Yang (1996) describes the dorsum of the metacoxa as expanding as sharp ridge that ends abruptly at half the length in a distinct angle. As the metacoxa was not illustrated in the original description it is difficult to interpret and match this character ( Fig. 13H View FIGURE 13 ) in our Indian specimen. Hence the species identity remains unconfirmed.
