Type:— COLOMBIA. [ Bolívar:] Turbaco , May 1841, A.J.A.Bonpland & F.W.H.A. Humboldt 1417 ( lectotype, designated here: P barcode P00669696 !).
Notes: — Kunth (1816) described N. sagittifera originally in the genus Pleurothallis based on material collected by Bonpland & Humbold s.n. without citing the holotype or where the deposit occurred. A sample was located in the P herbarium with information corresponding to the place of collection and the illustration is provided by the author in the protologue. It is believed that the sample with the P barcode P 00669696 was from the material used by the author to describe the species and, therefore, it is designated here as a lectotype.
