Note: — Arundinella gigantea was considered a distinct species (Hooker 1897, Cooke 1908). Bor (1955) synonymized it into A. leptochloa , who felt A. gigantea is variation of polymorphic A. leptochloa . The original material for A. gigantea is missing, or not preserved or untraceable. The specimen at K collected by J.E. Stocks (contemporary of N.A. Dalzell) from Concan (Konkan) annotated by Hooker as ‘ A. gigantea’ is designated here as a neotype.
