Types. Holotype ♂: “ Хабаровск 1926 [Khabarovsk 1926]”, gold circle, “Holotypus Semasia (Steganoptycha) funesta Filipjev, 1931 ”, “ ZISP INS _LEP_0001637”, “Praep. micr. SVN 24222 Zeiraphera funesta (Filipjev, 1931) S. Nedoshivina pr. 2024”.

Paratypes: 2 ♂ and 2 ♀ – ♂ and ♀ “ Хабаровск 1926 [Khabarovsk 1926]”, “Paratypus Semasia (Steganoptycha) funesta Fil. ” ; ♂ and ♀ “г. Хабаровск 12. VII.26 оп. поле [Khabarovsk, 12. Present status. Zeiraphera funesta (Filipjev, 1931) .

Comments. Genitalia of both sexes were illustrated in the original description. Gilligan et al. (2018) noted that the holotype sex is unknown.
