E. Pastures and meadows of hills and mountains ( Šapkarev 1991). D. Plešenci, Krstov Dol, Kriva Palanka ( Šapkarev 1972d; Mršić 1991; Šapkarev 1991). Z. Vardar endemic species (known only from the type locality).
Remarks. The taxonomical status of this taxon is quite confusing. The description was published by Šapkarev (1972d) as Allolobophora sp. however, he subjected the naming to a condition: “if it is a new taxon, I would name it as udei ”, thus this name is not available (ICZN Art. 15.1.). The first descriptions that made the name available are from Mršić (1991) and Šapkarev (1991), as Serbiona udei and Allolobphora dofleini udei respectively. Blakemore (2008), due to the inaccessibility of publications of Šapkarev (1972d), saw that Mršić (1991) included Allolobophora udei Sapkarev in the synonymy list (as nomen nudum). Also, wrongly, because that name was not available, Mršić should have written Allolobophora sp. Šapkarev, 1972: 120. Hence, Blakemore (2008) provided Serbiona joncesapkarevi a replacement name for All. udei ) and Serbiona josapi a replacement name for All. dОfleini udei ), to avoid homonymy of Allolobophora parva udei Ribaucourt, 1886 . However, Allolobophora udei Šapkarev, 1972 is not an available name therefore can not fall into homonymy nor synonymy. The same mistake was made by Popovic et al. (2024).
According to the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN Art. 24.1., 50.1.), we accept Serbiona udei Mršić, 1991 as the senior synonym and first valid combination, with the first complete description of the species. Thus, Allolobophora dofleini udei Šapkarev, 1991 , Serbiona josapi Blakemore, 2008 and Allolobophora joncesapkarevi Blakemore, 2004 are homotypic synonyms of S. udei , as all four namesare based on the same type specimens. Since Popović et al. (2022) revealed that several morphologically similar species treated as Serbiona by Mršić (1991) (eg., S. dofleini , S. robusta , S. serbica , S. paratuleskovi ) belong to the genus Cernosvitovia , we place S. udei to Cernosvitovia as well. This is not the only case of unclear taxonomic status of species from the Balkans. The intricate history of the Cernosvitovia crainensis (Mršić, 1989) and Aporrectodea macvensis Šapkarev in Mršić, 1991 was explained by Nicholas & Csuzdi (2018).
