Hymenophyllopsis hymenophylloides Gómez (1973: 103) View in CoL . Type: VENEZUELA, Bolívar, Cerro Venamo, 1500 m, Steyermark & Dunsterville 92584 ( holotype F, not seen), paratype: Steyermark & Dunsterville 92730 ( US!) .
Distribution: Venezuela ( Amazonas, Bolívar), Brazil (Amazonas), 750–1850 m.
Characteristics: Together with the somewhat similar C. incognita , this species differs from other members of Cyathea subg. Hymenophyllopsis by having thin ( 0.25–0.50 mm thick) petioles. Cyathea hymenophylloides differs from C. incognita in having 0.25–0.50 mm wide segments and more dissected leaves.
