Type material. Holotype, male, [ ZISP, gen. slide No. 2020], COLOMBIA, Tolima Nevado, El Rancho , [ 04°36′ N, 75°20′W], 2710 m, 02–07. IV. 2014, ( V. Sinyaev & M. Márquez) GoogleMaps ; Paratypes, 1 ♂ [ CUK] , 1 ♀ [ ZISP, gen. slide No. 2019], same data as holotype GoogleMaps .
Description. External characters. Head, thorax and tegulae light yellow. Collar on head with bright brown scales. Labial palpi thin, pale yellow, straight, twice as short as longitudinal eye diameter. Antennae yellowish brown. Length of forewings 22 mm. Fore wings light yellow with areas of scattered brown scales. Dark brown longitudinal stroke along costal margin, above cleft base. Dark brown stripe along first lobe, in its middle part. Second lobe densely darkened with dark scales. Fringe inside cleft yellowish. Hind wings unicolorous, light gray. Hind legs unicolorous, light yellow.
Male genitalia. Uncus simple, slightly pointed apically. Valvae elongated, symmetric. Saccular process at base of left valva, made of wide plate and small finger-like process. Anellus arms unequal in length, right arm distinctly longer than left one. Sacculus in middle part of right valva noticeably widened, with spiny process closer to its base. Vinculum arched. Aedeagus narrow, almost straight, narrowed apically, without cornuti.
Female genitalia. Papillae anales broadly oval. Apophyses posteriores long, straight, slightly widened, curved at ends. Apophyses anteriores absent. Ostium shifted to left. Antrum wide, cup-shaped. Corpus bursae long, vesicular.
Diagnosis. In the male genitalia, the new species is similar to Hellinsia praenigratus ( Meyrick, 1921) in the shape of saccular process on the left valva and the shape of anellus arms, but is distinctly different in the symmetric valva and spine-like saccular process placed at the base. The left valva of H. praenigratus is significantly wider than the right one, and the spine-like process is in the middle part of sacculus. In the female genitalia, the new species clearly differs from H. praenigratus in a wide cup-shaped antrum.
Distribution. Colombia.
Flight period. April.
Etymology. The species is named in honor of Father Zosima (in the worldly realm Sergei Vasilievich Shevchuk) ( Moscow, Russia). In 1986 he became a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate and retired in 2021. Since childhood, he was fascinated by entomology, especially butterflies.
