Type locality. Indonesia, West Sulawesi, Mamasa, Rante Pongko, Gandang Dewata National Park , approx. S:02°5 2’07,51”E:119°22’57,03”, 1687 m a.s.l.
Type material ( Figures 1–4 View FIGURES 1–3 View FIGURES 4–5 ). Holotype, pinned: male, ‘West Sulawesi— Indonesia | Mamasa—Rante Pongko | Gandang Dewata N.P. — 24.vi.2022 | R. Diagnosis. T. gandangdewata with T. boisduvali (Boheman) and T. sarinoi sp. nov. forms a group of species with presence of only posterolateral spots on the explanate margin of the elytra, without humeral spots. At first glance T. gandangdewata seems to be very similar to T. boisduvali especially in shape of dorsal dark pattern but differs in narrowly rounded basal spots on the pronotum (subtriangular in T. boisduvali ), broad axe-shaped spot on humeral calli of elytral disc (arched spot in T. boisduvali ), stout mandibles (elongate in T. boisduvali ) and in indistinctly micropunctate tarsal claws (distinctly micropectinate in T. boisduvali ). T. sarinoi differs in elytral pattern with humeral spots connected with posterior band thus lateral pattern looks slightly reticulate, scutellum with broadly brown to black margins (completely yellow in T. gandangdewata ) and in almost uniformly yellow antennae with segments 5–11 only slightly infuscate (bicolored with segments 7–9 mostly dark brown in T. gandangdewata ).
Description. Length: 7.9 mm, width: 7.4 mm, length of pronotum: 2.7 mm, width of pronotum: 5.3 mm, length/ width ratio: 1.05, width/length of pronotum ratio: 1.96 (n = 1).
Pronotum yellow, disc with two very small, dark brown to black, obtuse rounded triangular spots, separated by yellow at the middle of basal margin. Scutellum yellow with dark brown margins. Elytral disc yellow, with large crescent-shaped dark brown to black spot on humeral calli, triangularly protruding at mid-posterior margin, and a large square spot behind middle between suture and fifth elytral puncture row, the spot connected by a band with posterolateral spot of the explanate margin. Explanate margin of elytra mostly yellow, with broad dark brown to black posterolateral spots, humeral spots absent. Clypeus, ventrites, legs yellow. Antennae bicolored, segments 1–5 yellow, segment 6 yellow basally infuscate apically, segments 7–9 mostly dark brown and segments 10–11 slightly infuscate.
Pronotum broad, widest in middle, disc regularly convex, each side is separated from the explanate margin by two borders of impressions, one smaller in the area above head, one larger close to base. Explanate margin very broad, almost horizontal. Elytral disc and explanate margin with surface smooth and glabrous, impunctate.
Scutellum triangular. Base of elytra slightly wider than pronotum, humeral angles strongly protruding anterad, angulate. Elytral disc convex, distinctly elevated in postscutellar area. Punctation of disc regular, but broken by elytral relief. Punctures in rows quite dense, distance between punctures mostly as wide as puncture diameter. Intervals slightly convex, as wide as, to twice wider than rows, second interval thrice as wide as rows. Marginal row distinct, its punctures slightly larger than in central rows, space between punctures slightly elevated, forming short transverse folds. Explanate margin very broad, widest part slightly narrower than width of each elytron, lateral borders forms a shallow gutter. Whole surface of disc and explanate margin glabrous.
Clypeus narrow, almost as long as wide, shallowly impressed along middle, smooth and glabrous. Labrum very broad, deeply impressed on sides. Mandibles stout. Prosternal process broad, strongly expanded apically, shallowly impressed in middle, bottom of impression indistinctly granulate. Antennae in male slim and long, third segment twice as long as second, fourth segment 1.3x as long as third, 10 th segment 4x as long as wide, last segment 9.4x as long as wide. Claws large, indistinctly micropectinate.
Distribution. Indonesia (Sulawesi).
Etymology. It is named after Mount Gandang Dewata in West Sulawesi, where the specimen was collected.
