Schuppenfarn
Kleine Farne. Rhizom kriechend. Blätter 1-3fach gefiedert, unterseits dicht mit dachziegelig angeordneten Spreuschuppen bedeckt. Sori rund, einzeln am Nervenende oder perlschnurartig den Seitennerven der Fiedern folgend, gelegentlich vom umgerollten Blattrand bedeckt, ohne Schleier.
Die Gattung umfaßt etwa 70 meist tropische und subtropische Arten, die alle trockene Standorte besiedeln. In Europa nur 2 Arten, im Gebiet nur N. Marantae.
