Type material. Described from inexplicit number of syntypes. Type locality. “ Sulu Islands ”. Type specimens. Lectotype ♂ ( NMPC): “ Sulu Isl. [h] \ TYPUS [p] [red label] \ Agrilus atratulus m. Type [h] Det. Dr Obenberger [p]” . Lectotype designated by Jendek (2012).

Examined specimens. PHILIPPINES. 1 ♀ ( EJCB): “ Dapitan Mindanao Baker ”. Distribution. Philippines ( Mindanao).

Remarks. The male sex of the lectotype declared by Jendek (2012) needs verification. Neither description nor image of lectotype ( Fig. 4A View FIGURE 4 ) reveals whether the species has apex of metatibiae with cluster of setae. The species can be distinguished from all members of the A. humilis species–group by the larger body ( 5.5 mm) and by strikingly tapering distal part.
