Tropihypnus punjabae Stibick, 1968: 181 (original description; published type locality: Jibhi, India; another locality-India: West Bengal); Cate, 2007: 167 (catalogue; “SD” as India: Sikkim, Darjeeling District); Schimmel & Tarnawski, 2008: 654 (catalogue; “ India: Punjab”); Gupta et al., 2018: 501 (catalogue; “2C” as India: Sikkim, Darjeeling District).

Type Locality. India: Jibhi, Seraj, Kullu District , Himachal Pradesh [Jibhi, Seraj, Punjab] .

Type Depository. Holotype, M ( NHML) ; Allotype, F ( NHML); 35 Paratypes, 15 M, 6 F, 14 SU ( NHML, PERC) .

Distribution in India. Himachal Pradesh (Kullu District), West Bengal (Darjeeling District).

General Distribution. India, Nepal ( Schimmel & Tarnawski 2008).

Remark. The type material may be housed in PERC, but verification was not possible. As the presence of this species in Sikkim requires confirmation, this locality is not included here.
