Lissomus mastrucatus Gerstaecker, 1860: 151 (original description; published type locality: Ceylon); Cobos, 1963: 142 (distributional record; India: Nilgiri Hills).
Type Locality. Sri Lanka *.
Type Depository. Type, SU (??).
Material examined. Two specimens from Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu ( BNHS) ; 13 specimens ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–6 ) from Palakkad District, Kerala and Coimbatore District , Tamil Nadu ( FRID) ; 11 specimens were examined from Idukki & Thrissur districts, Kerala ( KFRI) .
Distribution in India. Kerala (Idukki District, Palakkad District, Thrissur District). Nilgiri Hills**, Tamil Nadu (Coimbatore District).
General Distribution. India, Sri Lanka ( Cobos 1963).
Remark. The type depository is unknown. The exact locality within the Nilgiri Hills cannot be ascertained. The Nilgiri Hills form part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, which spans across southern Karnataka, eastern Kerala, and northwestern Tamil Nadu. The species is considered endemic to India. Examined specimens confirm the presence of this species in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
