Hypnoidus himalayensis Stibick, 1980: 261 (original description; published type locality: Simla [sic], India; another locality- India: Jammu & Kashmir); Dolin & Cate, 2001: 123 (re-examined Paratype; “ India, Kashmir”; synonymised with H. cachemirensis ).
Type Locality. Cryptohypnus cachemirensis . India: Jammu & Kashmir [ Kashmir]; Hypnoidus himalayensis . India: Shimla District, Himachal Pradesh.
Type Depository. Cryptohypnus cachemirensis : Lectotype, M ( RBINS). Hypnoidus himalayensis : Holotype, M ( RBINS) ; Allotype, F ( NHML); 1 Paratype, M ( NHML) .
Material examined. Seven specimens were examined from Anantnag & Ganderbal districts, Jammu & Kashmir (FRID).
Distribution in India. Himachal Pradesh (Kullu District, Shimla District), Jammu & Kashmir (Anantnag District, Baramulla District, Ganderbal District).
General Distribution. India, Pakistan ( Cate 2007; Platia & Sechi 2022).
