Quasimus inopinatus Dolin, 2001: 135 (original description; published type locality: Balphakram NP, India; another locality- India: West Bengal); Korneev & Cate, 2005: 17 ( type catalogue); Cate, 2007: 190 (catalogue; “SD” as India: Sikkim, Darjeeling District); Schimmel & Tarnawski, 2009: 116 (catalogue; “ India: Meghalaya; Darjeeling”); Gupta et al., 2018: 502 (catalogue; “2C” as India: Sikkim, Darjeeling District).
Type Locality. India: Balpakram National Park, South Garo Hills District , Meghalaya [ Balphakram Nat. Park , W. Garo Hills, Meghalaya] .
Type Depository. Holotype, M ( CSB); 2 Paratypes, 2 F ( CSB).
Distribution in India. Meghalaya (South Garo Hills District), West Bengal (Kalimpong District).
General Distribution. India.
Remark. Although Dolin (2001: 135) mentioned a paratype is deposited in NHMB, the specimen could not be located in the collection (pers. comm. I. Zürcher, NHMB). Durpin is located in Kalimpong, West Bengal. As the presence of this species in Sikkim requires confirmation, this locality is not included here. The species is considered endemic to India.
