Lectotype (Clayton & Renvoize in Polhill, Fl. Trop. E. Africa, Gramineae 3: 691. 1982): Königs s.n., Herb. Linn. No. 1217.9 ( LINN) .

Current name: Cenchrus ciliaris L. View in CoL ( Poaceae ).

Note: Although Kerguélen (in Lejeunia, n.s., 75: 119. 1975) stated "Type: ...LINN", this is not accepted as a formal typification, for the reasons explained by Cafferty & al. (in Taxon 49: 240. 2000).
