Lectotype (Austin in Woodson & Schery in Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 62: 199. 1975): [icon] " Convolvulus foliis obtusis, palmato-lobatis " in Plumier in Burman, Pl. Amer.: 79, t. 90, f. 2. 1756.

Current name: Ipomoea imperati (Vahl) Griseb. View in CoL ( Convolvulaceae ).

Note: La Valva & Sabato (in Taxon 32: 112, f. 3. 1983) also treat the Plumier plate as the type, and reproduce it. Its identity was discussed by these authors, and by Austin & Bianchini ( l.c. 47: 837. 1998), who argue that it is recognisable as I. imperati .
