Genus Phorinia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 View in CoL
Diagnosis. Eye densely covered with long hairs; back of head usually flat and without black setulae behind the postocular row; anterior reclinate orbital setae usually exceptionally strong; second aristomere 2–5 times as long as its diameter; palpus black; 4th costal section longer than 6th; wing cell r 4+5 open; bend of M angled, with a short stub; R 4+5 setose nearly to crossvein R-M; scutum with 4 dorsocentral setae behind the suture; apical scutellar setae erect; middorsal depression on abdominal syntergite 1+2 extending back to hind margin; abdominal tergites 3 and 4 each with median discal setae.
Remarks. This genus is newly recorded from Iran.
