NOTE. — Gaudichaud (1830: 513) based his Laurea tiliifolia on “ Piper tiliaefolium Desvaux mss. in herb. Desf. Mus. In Guyanâ (Cayenne) Martin Ded.”. This is undoubtedly the type of Piper tiliifolium Desv. ex Ham. The latter name is thus the basionym of both L. tiliifolia and B. tiliifolia .
