Geocoris amabilis Stṏl, 1855

Very recently, the first records of Geocoris amabilis Stṏl, 1855 View in CoL (Heteroptera: Geocoridae )

on the island of Gran Canaria ( Canary Islands, Spain), which were the first records of the species for the archipelago, were reported ( VAN DER HEYDEN, 2025).

Geocoris amabilis is present on the island of Tenerife, too: On 04-04-2025, an adult specimen of the species ( Fig. 1 View Fig ) was photographed by Salomé Estévez Domínguez in the Parque García Sanabria , located in El Toscal , a quarter of Santa Cruz de Tenerife , the capital of the island . Four photographs of the specimen taken by Salomé Estévez Domínguez were uploaded to the online database iNaturalist by Daniel Rodríguez del Río (see here).
