[Japanese name: Gaikotsu-yokoebi-zoku]
Remarks. Two Japanese names have been proposed for the genus Lepechinella : ‘Gaikotsu-yokoebi-zoku’ proposed by Ishimaru (1994) and ‘Taka-ashi-yokoebi-zoku’ proposed by Gamô (1997). In this study, ‘Gaikotsu-yokoebi-zoku’ is considered for the following two reasons: (1) ‘Gaikotsu-yokoebi-zoku’ was proposed earlier than ‘Taka-ashi-yokoebi-zoku’; (2) Japanese name of its family ‘Gaikotsu-yokoebi-ka’ was already considered in literature (e.g., Ariyama 2022) and the stem of the Japanese name of the genus is better to be corresponded to the Japanese name of the family.
