Genus Yaginumaella Prószyński, 1979 View in CoL
Notes. Yaginumaella was placed in the subtribe Plexippina Simon, 1901 and contains 20 species, primarily distributed in East Asia (WSC 2025). The relationship between the genus and Ptocasius Simon, 1895 has always been controversial ( Wang et al. 2024). However, our recent molecular evidence has revealed that they are separate genera, and most of the species placed in Ptocasius are misplaced and should be transferred into Yaginumaella . Therefore, the true diversity of Yaginumaella is significantly higher than what is currently known. According to currently known species distributions, the Himalayan and Hengduan Mountainous Regions are two diversity centers of the genus. Moreover, it is expected that many species remain undiscovered in the mountainous areas of East, South, and Southeast Asia with elevations exceeding 1000 m a.s.l..
