Material examined.

Observed: Tarout Island, 6 September 2024, irrigation canal.

Remarks.

This is a common species observed in irrigation canals around the farms in Tarout Island. It was reported previously from Dharan, Hofuf, and Qatif ( Haas 1957, 1961), Al Qatif ( Briggs 1981), and Al Qudaih and Al Suhaemeah near Dahran ( Aloufi et al. 2023). Currently, seven species of amphibians have been reported from Saudi Arabia, most of which are known from southwestern Saudi Arabia ( Balletto et al. 1985; Al-Qahtania and Al-Johany 2018).
