Material examined. Holotype, male, Uganda, Abim [Karamoja sub-region, Northern Region], Labwor Hills , September 2016 (RHE; Gent. Prep Gielis Nr. 7738) . Paratype: 1 male, Uganda, Abim [Karamoja sub-region, Northern Region], Labwor Hills , August 2018 (RHE) .

Description. Male. Length of fore wing 16 mm. Antenna basally bipectinate (setae three times longer than antenna stem in diameter), distal half of antenna with tiny prongs. Thorax and abdomen densely covered with thick bright-yellow scales. Fore wing yellow-brown, series of black strokes along costal edge, thin wavy black pattern throughout all wing, the pattern reduced in central cell, border thin, brown, fringe yellow. Hind wing light-yellow without pattern on all surface except for costal margin and top of cubital veins where thin brown pattern of strokes is slightly developed, border thin, yellow, fringe light-yellow.

Male genitalia. Uncus long, thin, apically acute and beak-like curved; gnathos arms thin, long, belt-like; gnathos absent; valve relatively short, costal edge almost smooth, abdominal edge crescent-curved, apex semicircular; juxta robust with pair of long parallel lateral processes; saccus semicircular, of medium size; phallus equal to valve in length, thick, slightly curved throughout all length, with robust spindlelike cornutus in vesica.

Female unknown. Diagnosis. Externally, the new species is close to A. junkeri Yakovlev & Witt, 2017 (Type locality: Angola, prov. Benguela, btw Cutembo & Caluquembe, 14 km E Cutembo) ( Yakovlev & Witt 2017: Figs 6−7, 15−16), from which it differs in the following characters:

- the significantly lighter background of the fore wings;

- the sparse wavy black pattern on the fore wing;

- the absence of the light longitudinal stroke along costal edge of the fore wing;

- the smaller saccus

- the more curved abdominal edge of the valve.

Etymology. New species named after Jean Pierre Lequeux is a French entomologist who works in Uganda.
