scalpturatum Neumann, 1906 View in CoL , Amblyomma
Neumann, L.G. (1906) Notes sur les ixodidés. IV. Archives de Parasitologie, 10, 195–219.
Type depository: BMNH?: syntypes (females)
Type locality: Ega , Brazil , and Bolivia
Type host: Tapirus
Comments: Neumann (1906) listed two females deposited in the BMNH, but no specimens of Amblyomma scalpturatum are listed in the catalog of BMNH types by Keirans & Hillyard (2001). Labruna et al. (2005) stated that one of the males of Amblyomma incisum deposited in the BMNH is in fact Amblyomma scalpturatum . This specimen may be the holotype of Amblyomma scalpturatum according to Guglielmone & Nava (2014) and Guglielmone et al. (2014) but Amblyomma scalpturatum was described from two females.
