Type host: bear
Comments: Neumann (1897) listed specimens from Sri Lanka held in the MNHN in his description of Haemaphysalis spinigera , but Santos Dias (1956b) found that the Sri Lankan ticks were, in fact, Haemaphysalis minuta , and this opinion was supported by Trapido (1965).
