Type depositories: CI: holotype (male) and paratypes (a nymph and a larva); CG: a paratype (female)

Type locality: Stephen Island , New Zealand

Type host: Sphenodon punctatus

Current status: a synonym of Archaeocroton sphenodonti and its original name ( Guglielmone et al. 2020, 2023). The current status of Aponomma sphenodonti , as Archaecroton sphenodonti , was established by Barker & Burger (2018).
