sinensis Minning, 1934 View in CoL , Boophilus
Minning, W. (1934) Beiträge zur Systematik und Morphologie der Zeckengattung Boophilus Curtice. Zeitschrift für Parasitenkunde, 7, 1–43.
Type depository: not stated: syntypes (males and females); ZMB?: syntypes? (males) ( Moritz & Fischer 1981) Type localities: “Mooanshan” (Moganshan) in Shangai District, Amoy in Fujian Province , Qingdao in Shandong Province , and Hong Kong, China; Miyazaki, Japan ; “Auping,” Taiwan ; and Tongking, Vietnam
Type hosts: cattle, dog, goat, horse and water buffalo
Current status: a name incertae sedis in Guglielmone & Nava (2014).
Comments: Moritz & Fischer (1981) listed three males of the syntype series of Boophilus sinensis allegedly collected in Japan and held in the ZMB. However, Minning (1934) listed only eight female ticks found in that country; therefore, it is uncertain whether the male specimens deposited in the ZMB are true syntypes of Boophilus sinensis .
