Type depository: LMNH?: holotype (male)

Type locality: Kamchatka, Russia

Type host: Ovis sp.

Current status: a synonym of Dermacentor kamshadalus and its original name (Apanaskevich 2013), whose current status was also established by Apanaskevich (2013).

Comments: Neumann (1908) stated that the holotype specimen of Dermacentor variegatus kamshadalus had been deposited in the LMNH, but it was not found there by Apanaskevich (2013).
