Type depository: ZMB? (syntypes) ; USNTC: a lectotype (female) was designated by Apanaskevich & Schenk (2020)

Type locality: Weyland Mountains , Papua, Indonesia

Type host: unknown

Comments: Schulze (1935a) stated that the “type specimens” were deposited in the ZMB, but they are not listed in the catalogue of type specimens by Moritz & Fischer (1981). Apanaskevich & Schenk (2020) found a female of Ixodes luxuriosus deposited in the USNTC that they considered part of this species’ syntype series and designated that specimen as the lectotype.
