ludovici Siuda, 1972 View in CoL , Aponomma
Siuda, K. (1972) New species of a tick – Aponomma ludovici n. sp. ( Acarina , Ixodidae ) collected in Poland. Wiadomości Parazytologiczne, 18, 736–743.
Type depositories: SC: holotype (female) and paratypes (females, a nymph and larvae); USNTC: paratypes (a female and a larva)
Type locality: Limanowa , Poland
Type host: dog
Current status: a synonym of Amblyomma sphenodonti , as discussed in Siuda (1982, under the genus Aponomma ).
Comments: the type locality and host of Aponomma ludovici are wrong, but the valid data are unknown ( Siuda 1982). Siuda (1972) stated that a female and a larva were sent to the USNTC, but Keirans & Clifford (1984) listed one paratype (tick stage not provided) deposited there.
