Type host: Dicranoceros furcatus and Tapirus sp.
Comments: Guglielmone et al. (2021) stated that there are significant differences in the morphological descriptions of Amblyomma multipunctum . Further studies are needed to better define this species. Guglielmone et al. (2021) doubted both the type locality and host, Dicranoceros furcatus (= Antilocapra americana ), of this tick.
