Current status: a synonym of Dermacentor niveus ( Filippova 1997)

Comments: controversy attends the name Dermacentor niveus daghestanicus because some authors, such as Estrada-Peña et al. (2017), treat this name as a synonym of Dermacentor marginatus , while others, such as Kolonin (2009), have treated it as a synonym of Dermacentor daghestanicus . Filippova (2008) listed Dermacentor niveus daghestanicus as a synonym of Dermacentor niveus and her opinion is followed here.
