Type locality: “Kottrab,” Iran
Type host: cattle
Current status: a synonym of Rhipicephalus annulatus ( Keirans & Clifford 1984, under the genus Boophilus ). Comments: Guglielmone & Nava (2014) considered Boophilus occidentalis a member of the genus Uroboophilus , but this is an error.
